Early visits to migrant schools throughout September 2009

This is a series of photographs from one of MCF's earlier visits to a migrant school in north-east Beijing in September 2009. Located in the centre of a migrant community, with 600 students attending the school, the classrooms were very basic and slightly over-crowded. Many of the children had never interacted with volunteers from other cultures before and they, along with the principal and the teachers welcomed us with open arms as we ran some craft activities and taught English songs.

The day was inspiring and marked the first of many more visits to migrant schools throughout Beijing!
